Exchange Header Analyzer
Parse email headers into a delivery timeline with authentication, anti-spam, and security analysis.
What is Exchange Header Analyzer?
An email header analyzer parses Received hops and authentication results into a delivery timeline — essential for Exchange Online, Google Workspace, and secure email gateway troubleshooting.
How it works
Paste full internet message headers. PacketWizard builds a hop timeline, extracts SPF/DKIM/DMARC results, and surfaces anti-spam and delay signals when present.
Common issues
Incomplete headers
Clients sometimes copy only a subset of headers. Export “original message” or full headers from the mailbox admin tools for accurate timelines.
Clock skew between hops
Large negative delays often mean unsynchronized MTA clocks rather than true time travel. Treat extremes as clock skew until proven otherwise.
Frequently asked questions
Can this fix a delivery failure?
It diagnoses where delay or authentication failure occurred. Pair findings with SPF/DKIM/DMARC tools and the sending connector configuration to remediate.
Are message bodies uploaded?
Paste headers only. Avoid including message bodies or attachments when sharing headers in tickets.
