What is What Is My IP?
Your public IP address is the address internet services see when your browser connects. It identifies your network on the public internet and is different from private LAN addresses used inside your home or office.
How it works
PacketWizard reads the client address from your current HTTPS request headers and connection metadata. The lookup is computed for this session only — nothing is stored for later analysis.
Common issues
IP looks unfamiliar
Corporate proxies, mobile carrier NAT, and VPNs present a different public address than your local NIC. Compare with and without VPN to confirm.
IPv4 vs IPv6 mismatch
Dual-stack networks may prefer IPv6 for some destinations and IPv4 for others. Use IP Intelligence to inspect the address you actually received.
Address changes after reboot
Most consumer ISPs assign dynamic addresses. A router reboot or lease renewal can change the public IP without any misconfiguration.
